You know what I love? A good movie night with few of my closest friends or family.

If you enjoy movies just as much as I do, you’re going to love this post.

It’s been a while since I sat down with someone and dedicated the whole evening to watching movies and snacking. So, to fix this problem, a few days ago, I decided to throw a movie night party.

And it was a blaaaast. Seriously, movie nights are something unreal. They are super fun, interesting and actually good for your mental health. You get to relax, de-stress after a long week and simply enjoy the moment with a good company.

But what makes movie night great? I’m about to give all the instructions to a perfect movie night.

So sit down, grab a cuppa and let me teach you the art of making an incredible movie night party.

#1 – Create a cosy atmosphere

First things first, to have a fun and relaxing night, you need to create a perfect environment for that. So what you want to do is decide where you’ll be watching movies and how to make that place the best for it.

In my case, I decided to go for a good old fort. Because I’m a child at heart. And forts are cool, okay?

So, I picked few blankets and started building the fort. I took a while, I need to say. I think I lost my magic fort building powers that I had when I was a kid.

After a few failed attempts, I managed to build a fort or more like a tent. Then I grabbed my fairy lights and put them inside to make it cosier.

I decided against candles as I didn’t want to cause a fire in my own house. I can be quite clumsy. But if you have few of those electric candles, those would be perfect.

I threw few pillows and more blankets inside to make it comfortable to sit or lay while watching the movies.

Of course, you don’t need to build a fort to have a fun movie night. You can use your sofa, patio or whatever that you have.

#2 – Prepare some snacks and drinks

You just can’t have a good movie night without some snacks and drinks. It’s like a rule.

I usually like to make some homemade popcorn for movie nights. Marshmallow popcorn is always a good option. You need to try them if you haven’t already. Heaven, I tell you.

This time I opted for corn sticks with sugar and corn sticks with white chocolate and a mix of chocolate cereal.

I used these popcorn paper boxes that I got from Tiger to serve all these snacks, but you can get similar ones cheap from Amazon. I mixed corn sticks together with white chocolate pieces and chocolate shells. Also, a bit of gummies there and there.

For the drinks, I decided to be crafty and mixed a mocktail. It’s basically water, raspberry syrup, mojito syrup, a slice of lime and lots of ice.

Tastes incredibly good and doesn’t take master skills to make.

#3 – Select movies

This is a crucial part of a movie night, you need to choose that you’ll be watching during your party. Now you can choose a mix of movies or you can choose a genre that you all enjoy.

The problem with this part is that I scroll through movie lists for hours and never decide on a movie. It’s such a hard task for me and I seriously don’t know why.

Maybe it’s the fact that there are so many movies out there and it’s kind of overwhelming, to be completely honest.

If you’re struggling to pick what to watch just like me, I recommend checking out whichmovienext.com. It’s a website with lots of lists of movies based on category, genre, your favourite movie or a storyline.

It makes the whole choosing process way easier for me. You can find movies for all tastes.

This time I decided to go for animated movies. Never gets old, I tell you.

And that’s all you need to have a perfect movie night. Of course, don’t forget to invite some friends or grab a family member.

Then turn the movie on, sit back (or lay down, whatever floats your boat) and enjoy the night!

What are your go to movies?
