First, let’s get one thing straight, maintaining a blog is not an easy task. Especially when it’s not something you (can) do full-time. But the good news is that there are tools that make it a bit easier and simpler to keep the blog alive and running smoothly.
Of course, I can’t write down and list ALL of the tools that I use but I want to share the main ones that frame the basics for me. Without these tools, The Nerdy Me wouldn’t exist and you surely wouldn’t be reading this post right now.

Well, I might not share the recipe in this post – hire me here and I just might 😉 – but I will provide you only the best tools that I use myself and that haven’t failed me till this very day.
7 Best Blogging Tools That I Use:
Tool #1 – WordPress
Let’s be real here, without blogging platform, there would be no blog. The platform that I can’t recommend enough for all of you is WordPress.org. Note that it’s not WordPress.com, it’s .org. I previously had my blog on Blogger and I can assure you that the change to WordPress.org was one of the best decisions that I have ever made in my life. It’s not as hard to use, it gives me a lot of freedom and functionality which I love. So if you’re still using Blogger or are thinking about starting a blog, WordPress.org is where you need to go.
Tool #2 – Siteground
When it comes to self-hosted blogs and choosing the best host you can’t go wrong with Siteground. Seriously, it has everything you need and more. The service is incredible. The packages are suitable for all kinds of audiences and websites. Moreover, Siteground is super affordable. So look no further because Siteground is all you need for your internet space hosting. Tool #3 – Buffer
If you need a reliable tool for scheduling your content on Twitter, Buffer is the best option. I haven’t found a better tool for scheduling tweets and I cannot recommend it enough. With a free option, you can schedule up to 10 tweets per day but I find it quite enough. Of course, there is a paid version with unlimited tweets and it is super affordable. Also, with Buffer, you can schedule posts for both, Facebook and Instagram, as well. I really suggest you give Buffer a go.
Tool #4 – Tailwind
I’m sure all of you have heard about the power of Pinterest when it comes to your own blog or website. Pinterest can really make an impact in your revenue and traffic. I recently started investing more time in Pinterest and for this reason, I started using Tailwind. This app/tool is simply amazing. You only need to spend 10 minutes scheduling pins and then you can relax and watch how your Pinterest automatically pins and re-pins for you. You can redeem your free month by clicking here.
Tool #5 – Canva
Speaking of Pinterest, in order to have well-functioning pins you need to make graphics that are pinworthy. This means that they need to be big, usually vertical and easy to read. For creating such images and graphics I use Canva. So far this is the best tool I have come across to. You can create all kinds of images and visuals with it. The best thing about Canva? It’s completely free! There are paid features but you can perfectly use it without them. All my Pinterest images were created with Canva.
Tool #6 – Mailchimp
If you want to take your business or blog to the next level, you need to have a mailing list. I use MailChimp for sending weekly newsletters to my readers. It’s easy to use and it’s free up to 2000 subscribers. For now, Mailchimp fills my needs. I do recommend trying out this mailing service for all the beginners or those who are still a bit unsure about their business. I am not thinking about migrating to another service anytime soon. Tool #7 – Grammarly
I’m not a native English speaker. It’s my second language, and it’s natural that I’ll make grammar mistakes here and there. To try and avoid mistakes as much as possible, I use Grammarly which is a free grammar checker. This tool is great for blog post writing and even social media. Sometimes I don’t know how to correctly spell a word or I simply am in hurry, Grammarly shows me if there is a mistake and gives me the best solutions and fixes. Seriously, it’s a fantastic tool. Plus, it’s free! Of course, you can upgrade to a paid version as well if you want more features.
These are the main tools I use to maintain this blog and make the word go across about it. There are more apps/tools that I use but they aren’t as important as these. You can seriously work it off by only having these 7 tools.
