Weekly Finds #22 | Riga and speaking out about vulnerabilities
I never know how to start these blog posts…
It’s time for another Weekly Finds post and I have quite a lot to share with you, guys. But first things first, let’s talk about how freaking amazing this summer is.
I just got back from Riga, Latvia and I still can’t get over how wonderful it was. It was so lovely to take two days off with wonderful people and explore the city. At the moments like that, I feel incredibly blessed to have friends who can make me cry from laughter every time we meet.
I will certainly talk more about my trip to Riga in another blog post, so keep your eyes peeled for it.
This week I also went to see a basketball game which was a home game Lithuania vs France and it was lit. I can’t explain to you how amazing it is to be in a huge arena and cheer among thousands of people.
I simply can’t wait for EuroBasket 2017 championship to start. I living for a good basketball. Any fellow basketball lovers out there who will be watching EuroBasket?
As much as I love summer, I have to admit that it’s coming to the end and it makes my heart ache. I still have less than a month to enjoy it but I have no further trips or events planned.
I am not sure what I’ll do but hopefully, it will be just as fun. Now speaking about finds of this month, I started listening to Coffee Break Spanish podcast.
It’s perfect for those who want to learn Spanish or improve their skills. I’m listening to season 1 at the moment and I’m loving it. I haven’t been practising my Spanish all summer and I started slowly forgetting bits and pieces, so this podcast is a life saver for me.
At the moment, there are 3 seasons on Spotify that you can listen to. Each episode is around 20 minutes long and covers a different topic such as clothes, how to book a hotel and so on.
There is season 4 out as well but you need to purchase it from their website to be able to listen to it.
Recently I had a big debate with myself to whenever I should publish a very personal blog post or not. I even tweeted about it and got so many lovely responses from all of you.
Just wrote a VERY personal post and I’m not sure if I should publish it 😟

One person sent me a link to TED talk called The Power Of Vulnerability by Brene Brown and it helped me to make up my mind about this all ordeal.
Brene basically speaks about how our vulnerabilities give us power and how we should use them. After listening to this talk, I decided to publish the blog post and now you can read about my first ever public panic attack.
So thank you for all the support I got on that blog post. It really means the world to me. It was such a personal blog post to write but I believe that it could be helpful for some people out there. Thank you again.
On more fun note, I’m still obsessed with Fetish by Selena Gomez and I can’t stop replaying it over and over again. That song is just stuck in my head and it feels like Malibu by Miley Cyrus obsession all over again.
I feel like I need to find new songs to listen to or my neighbours will go crazy…
Also, a few days ago I watched for the first time Now You See Me movie and I’m shocked at how amazing it was! It’s basically about 4 magicians who robbed a bank during their live performance. It’s so well made, you have to see it if you haven’t already.
There is a second movie of it as well, and it was just as awesome. I can’t even comprehend how people come up with such ideas. Anyways, bottom line: you need to see it.
As you may have already known, I read All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven. It is such a beautiful book that I can’t even explain to you. I read it maybe in 12 or so hours. Bloody loved it.
I am not going to spoil anything if any of you haven’t read it but I’ll say this: if you’re into a bit of romance, a bit of tragedy books – this one is for you.
- 3 Reasons To Be Creative For No Reason At All by Martha Jane Edwards: sometimes we just need to be creative for ourselves.
- I’m Shit At Balance and I Want To Do Too Much by Rhianna Olivia: I can’t remember the last time I related so much to a blog post.
- Sometimes I Imagine a Life Without You by By Sheene: something beautiful and heartbreaking to read.
