Yesterday I and my friend had a sudden craving for sweet flavoured popcorn while staying at her house. However, she had no microwave and we only had microwave ones. Safe to say, we went cray cray.
I am not kidding (I want to say I am but I am NOT), we decided to try cook them in the oven. Yes, in the oven. It did not end well. Popcorn burnt. House smelled like a popcorn burner or something. And we were left without popcorn. At least, we know now not to cook them in the oven!
Next day I decided that I am still in need of a sweet flavoured yummy popcorn. I cooked my favourite Marshmallow-Caramel Popcorn and decided to share the recipe with you, guys 🙂
Here’s what you will need:
For one pack of microwave popcorn you’ll need:
- 50g Butter
- 3tbsp Brown Sugar
- 12 big marshmallows (or more if you want thicker coat)
1. Pop that popcorn into your microwave for as long as instructions say on the bag (it is very important to follow them or you will end up like us, hungry and smelling of burnt popcorn).
2.Then grab a pot/pan/blow and put your butter, sugar into it and put it on the stove on the small heat. I used an old metallic bowl for this, you can use whatever you have on the hand as long as it is heat-resistant (in other words, won’t make a big BOOM).

3. Slowly stir that all consistence till it is all melted and nice.

4.Then grab marshmallows and add one by one by stirring and squashing them till they start melting.

5.In between don’t forget to take your popcorn out of the microwave and pour them into a big bowl. Also take a baking paper or foil and lie in down on the table (take a big piece of it).

6.Then marshmallows melt, stir them a bit and turn the heat off.

7.Grab the pot/pan/bowl (DON’T FORGET HEAT GLOVES OR YOU WILL BURN YOUR HAND OFF. no, seriously) and pour all that melted mass into the bowl of popcorn.

8. Stir everything with a spoon, so that popcorn would be all covered in that sweetness. After it is all covered and all, pour your popcorn onto that baking paper or foil. I used foil because I ran out of paper but usually I use baking sheets, it absorbs grease and all. Make sure your popcorn are laying in a thin layer.

9.Leave them be for about 20-30 minutes to cool down. I usually use all that time for washing my dishes and bowls (those a hard to wash off because it’s sticky).
10.And lastly, after your popcorn are all ready, you can take them off and break into smaller pieces and put into your bowls, popcorn bags, containers (I use popcorn boxes from Tiger, they are soooo cute!). Bon Appetite!

Here you go, a sweet, tasty, marshmallow popcorn. And the best thing I like about this recipe is that they are not sticky in the end! They are gooey but they don’t stick to your fingers 🙂
