It’s been a while since I wrote a good old favourites post, so I thought why not bring it back. During January I had a break which equals lots of free time which equals tv shows, books, writing and so on. It’s safe to say that I have quite a few things to share. Without a further do, let’s get to them, shall we?
Watercolour world map canva from Photowall
I am absolutely in love with my newest room interior detail from Photowall. It’s this gorgeous and huge, by the way, canva with a world map which is painted in blue watercolours. It took me only a few minutes to build it and hang on my wall. Talk about easy installation! I got so many compliments on it from the first day I hang it.
I couldn’t be happier about it! So for all of you who love travelling just as much as I do and want something like this in your place, check out Photowall. Also, they have all kinds of canvas and wall murals for your choice if travels aren’t your thing. Delivery is very fast, it took about 2 weeks or less for the map to arrive.
I even have a cheeky little discount code that gives you 20% off any purchase made on Photowall. Just use TheNerdyMeCampaign2018 and you’re good to go. The code is live only until 19th of March, so be quick.
The Good Doctor
I came across The Good Doctor a week ago when I was on 14-hour bus trip to Berlin (post coming up soon!). My friend suggested that we watch it to pass the time and I was very sceptical about it at first. Blood and I do not go together, so tv shows about surgeons and hospitals are not my kind of thing. However, I was pleasantly surprised by this show. It is very well-produced! The plot isn’t boring or expected which is always a great plus.
I managed to watch entire season already and I can 100% vouch for it. Definitely recommend to watch it if you enjoyed House or that kind of shows. Just a little disclosure, there’re scenes that show a lot of blood and insides of human, let’s say…
Every Last Word by Tamara Ireland Stone
If you’re interested in mental illnesses or young adult books, then this one is for you. It’s about Samantha McAllister who has Purely-Obsessional OCD. This book gives a great inside to what it’s like to live with constant dark thoughts that you simply can’t control or turn off. Samantha overthinks, second-guesses every move and even is surrounded by toxic friends.
All in all, Samantha is introduced to Poet’s corner where she begins to experience life in a different light. Absolutely beautiful and heartbreaking story at the same time. I recommend it to everyone who has a slight interest in mental health, OCD or just adores poetry.
Sometimes magical and unexpected things happen. In other words, I am back to liking Instagram and not completely hating the algorithm. I don’t know if it’s only me or something changed on Instagram but my feed doesn’t always show only a week old posts. I can actually see posts that are posted by people with a smaller following and the post that are made only a few minutes ago. FINALLY.
Am I the only one? I started loving Instagram again, especially Instagram stories. I love the new feature which allows to add gifs and change shrift. However, not a fan of those filters for stories. The one I’ve been always using is gone and neither of the new ones works for me. If we ignore that fact, Instagram is a wonderful platform to sign up for. Are you following me (@thenerdymeblog) there? You should because all kind of entertainment is happening there… or at least the latest updates about my travels.
What have you been loving recently?
Any recommendations that I should check out?
