I’m all about giving back and supporting your community and environment in which you live and grow. So when I found out about Eventbrite and their current project about nonprofit organizations, I couldn’t say no.
Actually, I’ve been thinking of writing such blog post in a while now, so the timing of the Eventbrite project was perfect, to say the least.
There are lots of organizations, charities and events that you can support from all over the world. I decided to make a list of the ones that I support and find incredibly important to share with you.
Feel free to share causes that you support in the comments below. I’d love to find out more ways I can give back to the world.
So without further due, let’s take a look at 3 causes that you can support right now!
You might be familiar with Red Nose Day which is an amazing organization with a wonderful cause. However, today I want to introduce you to Red Noses which is an international nonprofit organization with a similar mission as Red Nose Day.
Red Noses specialize in hospital clowning where doctors dressed up as clowns try to bring more laughter to the patients, especially children. They organize various visits, fun activities and try to ensure a safe, fun and joyful atmosphere in the hospitals.
I myself try to support this cause as much as I can as it’s such a nice initiative and it’s quite well-known in Lithuania and all around the Europe.
You can support them by buying clown noses called ‘Humorin’ in the shops or by donating on their website. I personally love buying those clown noses and gifting them to my friends or family on any occasion. It’s a lovely gift and you donate to the cause as well.
This is an organization which is dedicated to improving education and empowering children all around the world. I found out about this organization through Lilly Singh who recently aired #GIRLLOVE campaign.
For every school supply purchase from this organization, the money goes into improving education and access to it for all the children. I love that Lilly decided to create Rafiki bracelets with women from Kenya in order to raise money for such cause.
Education is a highly important thing and it’s saddening to hear that a lot of children, especially girls, don’t get a proper or sometimes even any education because of lack of money or some kind of beliefs.
I believe that every girl has a right to education. This is why I encourage you to support this cause.
Another non-profit organization that I support every year is Food Bank (Maisto Bankas in Lithuanian). This organization distributes food for those who have difficulty purchasing enough food to avoid hunger.
The best thing about this organization is that you can actually buy the food yourself and drop it at any food bank post. Then it will be donated to those in need.
In Lithuania, you can leave the food in special boxes in supermarkets or take it to the main “warehouses” where it is distributed.
The whole cause is wonderful in my opinion as there is a huge rate of people who are living in poverty and cannot afford the simplest food products.
So the next time you’re grocery shopping, pick few additional products such as flour, oil, pasta, rice or etc. and bring them to your local food bank. You’ll make a huge difference.
You can support this cause by finding the nearest food bank spot in your neighbourhood here or simply by visiting their main website.
These three causes are the ones I support every year and I deeply encourage you to do too. Also, as I mentioned there are more amazing causes and organizations that we can support but it would take forever to list them all.
So I encourage you all to donate or support at least one nonprofit organization (be it from this list or not) through out the year. Giving back is the easiest and simplest way of helping someone in need and making a small change in our world.
Pin this and spread the message across the world!
Thank you again to Eventbrite for such wonderful project. You can check out their non-profit fundraising page if you want to get involved.
Also, I’d like to point out that this is not a sponsored post and I decided to participate in this project without any compensation. I think it’s important to support good causes from good will and this is why I wanted to share these three organizations with you.
