Organise your life

Simply said than done, huh? You won’t reduce stress in your life if you keep living a hectic life. Start organising your life by making a schedule, making to-do lists, organising your files on the computer, your wardrobe or your grocery list. It can be anything. Make small changes there and there, time at a time and you’ll see the difference. By no means don’t make your whole life scheduled and time controlled, leave some time for spontaneous getaways, little walks or just a day off.

Do more of what you like

Hobbies are sometimes what keep us sane after a long day at work or university. Try to indulge yourself in activities you enjoy when you have free time. If you enjoy painting, take a painting class. If you love dancing, take a dancing class or simply dance on your own. Do more of what makes you happy and what you enjoy wholeheartedly. You will notice a positive change in your life.

Take breaks regularly

When you’re having a very intense work or study day, remember to take breaks regularly. I cannot stress enough how important they are. If you won’t take breaks, you will exhaust your body and mind that will lead to even more stress and that’s not what we want. So the next time you’re going beast mode on your work, remember to step back, take 10 minutes off and then proceed again.

Positive thinking

Positivity is what keeps me away from stress every single day. When you learn to look at every bad situation with a little bit of hopefulness and a mind that it’s not the end of the world, it gets better. Imagine how much stress you’ll save yourself if you start thinking more positively about life and every mishap. I am not saying to be a bundle of positivity every single day, every minute of your life (it’s not that easy and sometimes you can crack), but try to let more positivity in your thinking and let’s negativity. Why dwell on things that already happened? You can’t change them but you can change the way they will affect you.

Make a change

If it’s becoming too much and you just can’t and don’t want to live like this, make a bloody change! Don’t stay at a job where you’re only exhausting yourself and don’t any satisfaction or happiness at what you do. Don’t make plans that you really don’t want to do. Don’t feel the need to engage with people who don’t bring you happiness or smile on your face when you think about them. Make a change in your life, no matter if it’s big or small, just do it if you don’t feel like it satisfies you anymore. It’s your life and you need to live it the way you want to.

Include self-relaxation in your routine

One of the ways to reduce stress in your life is to include few self-relaxations in your routine. It can be meditation, yoga, book reading, a bath or whatever keeps you relax and calm. It will help you clear your mind and unwind after a long day. If you will have those self-relaxations at least three times a week, you will notice reduced stress levels and you will feel less stressful every day.

Enjoy your life

Most importantly, enjoy your life. Don’t live it the way others want or don’t let your daily routines kill it for you. We sometimes need to do unpleasant things in life, sometimes things happen but it doesn’t mean that you can’t enjoy your life. One bad day is not a make or break, so don’t dwell on it too much. So out there and make your life!
